Put on your dancing shoes and head for the dance floor!
And I don’t mean the usual body shaking at the clubs, where you are too intoxicated to know whether you are dancing or actually flying. I’m talking about the real deal, dances with steps like tango, ballroom dancing, salsa or perhaps belly dancing. But then, it’s not all about the steps, once you know the rules then you’ll be able to groove.
People take dancing for granted. Many of them say, “it’s either you got it, or you don’t.” Meaning, either you have what it takes to move your body or you should just sit at the bench near the wall behind the pillar close to the toilet under the stairs. Okay, that’s an exaggeration. But really, people who can’t dance do feel inadequate when seeing other people dance gracefully and having fun too at that. And their worst fear is when those fun loving people just grab them and whisk them off their feet to the dance floor.
Now, how rude is that? You can’t just assume everyone can play piano do you? Like the scene from our favourite classic Pride and Prejudice where Elizabeth Bennet was forced to play the piano by Mr. Darcy’s widowed aunt. Elizabeth played poorly despite of the culture at that time where a lady was expected to be able play the instrument if not beautifully, fairly. That, should not happen anymore.
But the main point is, why not go take the dance lessons? Believe me, those people who are moving their booty all over the dance floor, they have had their share of dancing lessons and practices. If not from a professional dancing instructor, maybe from friends.
